OTTAWA, ON — Toni Jacob, Founder and Executive Director of the African, Caribbean & Black Wellness Resource Centre (ACB), today announced her endorsement of Councillor Rawlson King for re-election in Ward 13, Rideau-Rockcliffe, citing his commitment to community, equity and inclusion and his support for grassroots organizations serving African, Caribbean and Black residents.

I am proud to endorse Councillor Rawlson King for re-election in Ward 13, Rideau-Rockcliffe.

As Founder and Executive Director of the African, Caribbean & Black Wellness Resource Centre (ACB), I have seen firsthand Councillor King's commitment to community, equity and inclusion, and to ensuring that the voices of residents and community organizations are heard.

Councillor King understands that strong communities are built through meaningful relationships. He has taken the time to visit ACB, learn about our work, listen to the challenges facing African, Caribbean and Black communities, and recognize the vital role grassroots organizations play in supporting residents.

As a B3 organization, ACB serves thousands of individuals and families through food security initiatives, seniors and youth programming, health and wellness services, mental health supports, employment and financial literacy programs, community outreach, and connections to essential resources. Having elected representatives who understand and value this work is critical to building a stronger and more equitable Ottawa.

What stands out about Councillor King is his willingness to show up, listen, engage and advocate. His leadership reflects a genuine commitment to ensuring that communities that have historically faced barriers are represented and have a meaningful voice at the table.

For these reasons, I am pleased to endorse Rawlson King for re-election as City Councillor for Ward 13, Rideau-Rockcliffe. I believe his continued leadership will strengthen relationships among the City, residents and community organizations like ACB, while contributing to a more inclusive and equitable Ottawa.
