Three Ways to Vote
1. Vote in Person
There are six in-person voting days to choose from:

All voting locations are fully accessible.
2. Vote by Proxy
Can't make it to vote in person? You can appoint someone you trust to vote on your behalf. Both you and your proxy must complete the Appointment for Voting Proxy – Form 3, available at ottawa.ca/vote. The proxy certification must be completed at the Elections Office or a Client Service Centre between September 1 and October 26 at 4:30 pm.
3. Vote by Special Mail-in Ballot
Apply to vote by mail from September 1 to September 15 at 4:30 pm online, by email, by mail, or in person at the Elections Office. Special ballot voter kits will be mailed the week of September 21. Completed ballots must be returned to the Elections Office or a Client Service Centre by 8 pm on October 16 to be counted.
Verify Your Voter Information
Make sure your name and address appear correctly on the Voters' List. You can check and update your information from September 1 to September 20 at 4:30 pm by:
- Using the "Am I on the Voters' List?" tool at ottawa.ca/vote
- Submitting an application to the Elections Office online, by email, by mail, or in person
After September 20, updates can be made directly at your voting location on voting days.
Accessible Voting
All voting locations are fully accessible. Available tools include large print ballots, magnifying sheets, Braille candidate listings and ballot templates, and an accessible vote tabulator at select locations. Learn more at ottawa.ca/vote.
