Sherman is proud to support Rawlson King due to his accomplishments in office. During King's seven years in office, the Councillor facilitated nearly $397 million in infrastructure investments and $120 million for affordable housing within Rideau-Rockcliffe Ward, and championed a poverty reduction strategy, a food security policy, and an anti-racism strategy for the entire City of Ottawa. King is Ottawa's first Black City Councillor, representing Rideau-Rockcliffe Ward since his historic by-election victory in April 2019 and re-election in October 2022. King served as Deputy Mayor from June to December 2024 and received the King Charles III Coronation Medal in 2025 in recognition of his public service.
King expressed his gratitude for the endorsement.
"I am deeply honoured to have the support of Fred Sherman, a man who has dedicated his career to building a stronger, more inclusive community and country with our youth in mind. Fred knows our community intimately, and his confidence means a great deal to me. The work we have accomplished together over the past seven years reflects what is possible when people of goodwill come together with a shared commitment to public service. I look forward to continuing that work on behalf of every resident in our ward."
